The LoRa (from "Long Range") network, also called LoRaWAN, is a dedicated data communication protocol for IOT sensors.
It provides efficient data transmission for large distances – up to 15 km, while consuming very little energy (which is perfect for Gallium's batteryless design).
The Gallium 1.0 is equipped with an onboard ultra low power GNSS receiver that regularly feeds asset location data to the cloud.
In addition to the low maintenance of the Gallium hardware due to its batteryless technology, Element 4 provides regular OTA (Over the Air) updates that keep the Gallium device's firmware up to date.

To that end, we intend on working with existing sensor companies to integrate their sensors as a third-party add-on to our Gallium (which acts as the foundation). Why would they do that? They get to sell additional units of their sensors without having to worry about the power or communication needs for tough, remote monitoring.
